For many, how to discover your purpose can be hard to do. You may struggle to find the reason you are here or what lights an internal fire inside you. But discovering your purpose is not impossible. It just takes some internal work.

What or where do you spend your free time?
What do you wish you had more time for?
What activities do you excel in?
What are your strengths?
What made you happy as a child?
What did you want to be when you grew up?
What limiting beliefs or negative thoughts are holding you back?
Reflection
Now, reflect on your answers. Are there similar responses, such as outdoor activities? Then work in the open air could be good for you. Do your answers center on a certain topic, such as hiking or art? If so, then maybe you would like to run hiking tours or teach art classes. Look for common themes because they can point you in the right direction of what your purpose is.
One thing to remember is that our purpose can and will change. It’s not like a one and done deal. Sometimes we just outgrow our purpose, like in college, when our purpose is getting a degree. How many people do you know changed their major or are not even working in the field they received their degree in?
Or maybe we find something more exciting that captures our interests. How to discover your purpose is a lifelong process, and that’s a good thing. It means we get to try new experiences, and that helps to bring our focus to something we are passionate about.
Having a purpose makes life more meaningful because you are engaging in activities that interest you and bring in joy. When you find your purpose, you will have a clear and deeper understanding of yourself.
