I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW

RainbowAs the Johnny Nash song goes “I can see clearly now the rain is gone”. How many of us cannot see the opportunities that are right in front of us because our own rain and clouds are blocking our view?

I am writing this as a wildly wicked storm is brewing outside. I cannot see the moon or the stars but I know they are out there. Somewhere hidden behind the clouds. I just have to have faith that they are still there. I have lived long enough that I know the storm will end and brighter days will come.

Dolly Parton said “As I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain”. We all have rain in our lives. Sometimes it is a light rain and other times it feels like a hurricane. But those drops of rain are the challenges we need to face and overcome to move forward. We just have to have faith that things will get better. Life does and will move on. Your challenges will test your faith. Maybe that is their purpose. To give you confidence that things will change, life will get better and you are stronger because of all your challenges. Of course when you are in the midst of those challenges, it is hard to see the rainbow at the end. But have faith, that the rainbow is there and the sun will come out again. Maybe not tomorrow or the next day, but the sun will shine on you once again.

Nash’s song later says “Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for”. But to see the rainbow, we have to be open to seeing it. We need to figure out how to remove that rain and those clouds and get rid of any obstacles, real or imagined, out of our way. And that takes time and sometimes in little steps to remove them, especially if we have carried around these obstacles for many years. But have faith that you can remove whatever obstacles you face so you can see clearly once again

This wicked wind just knocked over my amaryllis and I lost my 9 flowers that were so beautiful. Luckily I just took pictures of them today so I can remember how beautiful they were. So in life, your pot will knock over and you will lose your flowers. But flowers can regrow and give birth to new blossoms just as you can remove the obstacles in your life to bring new opportunities your way.

Life throws you rain and challenges. But if you have lived long enough, you know the rain will stop, the sun will appear and brighter days full of possibilities are at the end of the rainbow. You just have to be open to seeing them! Look for your rainbow, find your sun and shine your light brightly once again. You can do it. I have faith in you!
