Have you ever noticed when a friend or relative are in a funk there is nothing you can say or do to help them feel better? It is because they may not want you to help them. Maybe they just want to talk it out. Or they want to stay in their own suffering and live in Pity City. If so, they may want you to come down and visit this city with them. Don’t follow them there.
It does not do anyone any good if you go down the rabbit hole too. I know from personal experience because I have gone down that hole with others myself. Sometimes it is hard not to follow them. You think you are being a good friend by sharing this negative space, but are you really?
Good solutions do not present themselves in this lower place. You do not make good choices when you are in sadness, anger, or fear.
“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” -Albert Einstein
Better solutions occur when your mind is in a clear, relaxed space. Please understand most people can’t go from sadness to happiness in one breath, but you can reach for a little better emotion. And once you feel a better emotion, stay here a bit to make sure you have it, then reach for a more desirable emotion. It is like going up a staircase. With each step you reach a new higher level. The higher you go, the easier you can breathe and there is less stress, fear, and doubt. Do this until your mind is clearer and then better solutions will come to you. Positive emotions bring clarity which deliver the best results.
The solution is always inside of you. You may just have feel a little bit better to find it.
“You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.” – Glinda the Good Witch, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
