It’s time to celebrate you! In the hustle and bustle of helping others, we often forget to appreciate ourselves. This season of thankfulness is the perfect moment to pause and be grateful for you and the incredible body that allows you to do so many wonderful things.
So today, let’s turn inward and focus on you! Embrace self-gratitude and start celebrating the amazing qualities that make you unique.
Create a Self-Gratitude List
First, grab a pen or pencil and a notebook, journal, or computer.
Second, pour yourself some water, coffee, tea, or whatever beverage you prefer.
Third, cozy up in your favorite spot and light a candle, use a diffuser, or put on some soft music to help you relax.
Take your time to reflect on the points below—you don’t need to complete everything in one sitting. If you find yourself stuck or struggling to think of something, try taking a walk outside. It always helps me find clarity when I need it.
Celebrate You! What do you love about yourself?
Write down the qualities you admire about yourself. Need some inspiration? Consider traits like:
- Kind
- Giving
- Creative
- Optimistic
- Resilient
- Patient
- Uplifting
- Free-spirited
- Funny
- Open-minded
- Dream-chasing
If you are need more help, write down qualities you like in others. Many times, those are the same qualities we have in ourselves. Like attracts like.
Turn Your Favorite Items Into Affirmations
Choose your top three qualities and transform them into affirmations—positive, personal statements that affirm who you are or what you’re cultivating. The phrase “I am” is especially powerful because anything that comes after “I am” states that’s what you are. Here are some examples:
- I am kind and generous, spreading positivity wherever I go.
- I am open-minded, embracing different perspectives with ease.
- I am resilient and optimistic, rising stronger with every challenge.
Embrace and Reflect Daily to Celebrate You
Read your affirmations every day. Reflect on them, live them, and let them shape your mindset. By focusing on these positive truths, you’ll begin to notice a shift in how you feel and how you approach life. And be grateful. It moves the needle to love, happiness, and peace faster than anything I’ve found.
