We attract what we put out into the world. Our thoughts and more importantly, our emotions, brings back to us what is happening in our inner world. I may think I did not want to attract this situation into my life, nevertheless, here it is. Sometimes we do attract what we do not want by concentrating on what we do not want. The universe brings to us the same energy we are offering. What we think, we feel, therefore, we become our thoughts. Like attracts like.
As you think, so shall you become. – Bruce Lee, Hong Kong-American actor, martial artist, philosopher
When we combine the heart energy with thought energy (mindful awareness), we start creating and this creation manifests into physical form. Intentionally or unintentionally, I have brought into existence what I want and did not want into my life. Before learning this, I didn’t realize it was me creating the circumstance. It is the intention, attention, belief, and emotion that are the keys to creating. I found this to be true when purchasing concert tickets for The Eagles. I wanted one of two sets of seats and acquiring either of them would be amazing. Working on two computers, I started trying to obtain those seats and for the first ten to fifteen minutes I had no luck. But then I stopped, took a breath, and with strong desire announced out loud I really wanted these two sets of seats. I hit the refresh button on both computers I could not believe my eyes. One computer showed I had scored one set of the seats. Then on the other computer, the second set of seats came up. I couldn’t believe it. Now I had both sets and needed to decide which set to take. This was the first time I fully understood the power of manifestation and our individual power to create as humans. What we conceive and desire, we create.
We can attract wonderful circumstances and positive people into our life. When feeling on top of the world and everything is going right, take a moment to look at your thoughts and emotions. Are they feelings of strong, I got this, freedom, happiness, life is great? Write down what these positive emotions feel like to be reminded of them when feeling down. It will take a bit of work, but it is worth it.
I am not saying to go around and be happy all the time. You can if you want, but my point is that many times we can reach for a more beneficial thought, or at least neutral one. I have found I am my own worst enemy. I can beat myself up by telling stories about myself, like, I am not good enough. But this is fiction. We are all good enough. If these stories continue to ruminate in my mind, I start believe them to be true. And this is where the spiraling begins. After all, a belief is only a story which keeps getting retold. The power to transform our thoughts lies within each of us.
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. – Dr. Wayne Dyer, American philosopher, author, and speaker
By intentionally changing our words and emotions to more favorable ones, the world around us changes. Negative words are toxic. Situations change when thoughts change. Work on training the mind to see the positive. Sometimes it is not an easy thing to do, but with practice, we can switch our normal “go to” thoughts. How many times is our mind playing a negative loop? We say “I can’t, I am not smart enough, my life won’t change.” But if we can become mindful of our thoughts and revise our dialogue to lean more towards a favorable thought, like gratitude, or at least indifference, we will shift the outcome. We can create new neural pathways in our brain and in time, we will start moving towards the new thoughts instead of the old ones. We cannot control which thoughts come into the mind, but we do have the power to stop and change them.
Concentrate on what you want to see, think, and feel. You are the manager of your thoughts.
