Dream Away!

Walt DisneyHave you forgotten your dreams? Are you living a life that is so far from what you dreamed? Many of us are and we wonder how we got here. What happened? Did we settle, doubt ourselves or become afraid that we could not accomplish our dreams?

I think Walt Disney is one of the most perfect examples of following your dreams. Today people only see the empire that he started. We don’t hear of how there were many obstacles, road blocks and filing for bankruptcy protection several times. It is said that Walt was turned down by 302 bankers to get the loan to build Disneyland. Some say he had more failures than successes but look at the successful empire that Disney has become. That is an amazing success story that started with a dream and a mouse!

I believe there are four lessons that can be learned from Walt.

1. Never Give Up! Even when failure seems more possible!

“The difference between winning and losing is most often, not quitting.” – Walt Disney

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” – Walt Disney

 2. Always Follow Your Dreams!

“If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse.” – Walt Disney

“But they say if you dream a thing more than once, it’s sure to come true.” – Walt Disney

 3. Have Courage!

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney

“We did it, Disneyland, in the knowledge that most of the people I talked to thought it would be a financial disaster – closed and forgotten within the first year.” – Walt Disney

4. Be Curious!

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” – Walt Disney

“When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.” – Walt Disney

Start your dream process. Write down your life’s dreams and look at them every day. See if there is something you can do today to start your dreams in becoming a reality. Even the smallest thing will start the ball rolling. You have to first start. And once you start, the universe will help you with “coincidences” and opportunities that will come your way to help your dreams come true.

“Disneyland is a work of love. We didn’t go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money.”

“Money does not excite me. My ideas excite me.” – Walt Disney

Have dreams because you are passionate for something. Dreams only based on money rarely come true. And if those dreams include helping others, your possibilities are endless!

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” – Walt Disney

“Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. Dreams are forever.” – Walt Disney
